Yehudà Lerma

Rabbì Yehudà Lerma, sefardita vissuto in Italia nella metà del sedicesimo secolo, compose un commento ai Pirkè Avòt dal titolo “Léchem Yehudà”, cui aggiunse un discorso sull’anima.

Il libro fu stampato a Venezia nel 1553, ma fu vittima del rogo dei libri ebraici in Italia dell’anno successivo. Fu poi ristampato nel 1555 a Sabbioneta, e nella prefazione l’autore lamenta il rogo.

Un suo omonimo, forse un nipote, compare nella generazione successiva come allievo di Rabbì Yechi’èl Bassan e successivamente come Rabbino di Belgrado.
